i put this pair of speakers in the ft. doors of my 2003 chevy truck and couldn't believe the difference--i replaced the head unit about a month ago with a Alpine CDE-103BT unit and was pushing sound through the stock speakers and i thought it sounded pretty good but sometimes the speakers would act up and not play. so i figured what the hell--i needed new speakers so no money lost--did the sound ever come alive-- it is totally different--and i'm not talking about a little-- i plan to replace my rear dr speakers now with some more alpine soon-- the money was well spent-- i'm planning on adding a sub with a amp in the future--you just can't go wrong with alpine !!!!

Put these on the tower of my wakeboarding boat to listen to out in the water. Pumping 100 watts RMS a piece to them through a fosgate 400/4 amp and they are loud enough and clear enough to sound like headphones from 70 feet behind the boat. Definitely a great speaker. Never distorts even at the highest volumes.
PS Don't even bother with these if you dont plan to amp them...they will sound terrible. They need at least 50watts RMS to sound decent because they are one of the highest power handling 6.5 coax out there.

My Jeep Liberty 2004 4 stock speakers needed replacement.
After reviewing several comments, I decided to install 6.5" Sony XSGTX1640 Coaxial 4-Way Speakers in all 4 doors.
The sound was missing the base and lacked fine details.
I then decided to go for a more expensive option and picked the Alpine SPR-60 to install in my front doors. I kept the Sony in the rear doors to be able to compare the sound. Note: the Alpine come with door adaptors that fit the stock speakers opening right away.
And WOW!! a huge difference is immediately noticed. Now my sound system is back to life and performance exceeds my earlier stock speakers.
Now I am replacing my rear sony speakers too.
Do not hesitate, go for it!!
